Teams Calling - Microsoft Announces Improved Performance

One good thing that came out of the Covid 19 pandemic was that Atlantech Online began delivering Teams Calling to our user base. Additionally, because our workforce went remote during the initial phase of the pandemic, we began using Teams Calling for our operations, as well.

Microsoft Teams is a powerful communication and collaboration tool that offers a wide range of features and benefits for businesses of all sizes. One of the key features of Teams is its robust calling capabilities, which can greatly enhance the way a business communicates with its employees, customers, and partners.

First and foremost, Teams offers a unified communication platform that allows users to make and receive calls, hold meetings, and share files and information, all within the same application. This eliminates the need for multiple communication tools and streamlines the process of staying connected with others.

Teams also offers a range of calling features that can greatly improve the way a business communicates. For example, users can make and receive calls from anywhere, using their computer, mobile device, or landline. This allows employees to stay connected and productive, even when they are away from the office.

Additionally, Teams offers a range of options in conjunction with our UCaaS (Unified Communications as a Service) platform for call forwarding and voicemail, which can help to ensure that calls are never missed. Users can also customize their caller ID and set up custom greetings, which can help to enhance the professional image of a business. The Atlantech Online Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) and Call Recording platforms can be utilized with the Teams Calling service, as well.

One of the most powerful benefits of Teams is its ability to hold meetings and conference calls with multiple participants. Teams supports both audio and video conferencing, and allows users to share their screens, collaborate on documents, and record meetings for later playback. This can greatly improve the efficiency and productivity of a business, as it allows teams to stay connected and collaborate in real-time, regardless of their location.

Another benefit of Teams is its ability to integrate with other Microsoft applications, such as Outlook, SharePoint, and OneNote, which can help to improve the overall productivity of a business. This allows users to access and share information, collaborate on documents, and schedule meetings all in one place.

Overall, Microsoft Teams offers a wide range of benefits for businesses of all sizes. With its robust calling capabilities, integrated collaboration tools, and seamless integration with other Microsoft applications, it can help to improve communication, productivity, and overall workflow. With Teams, businesses can stay connected and productive no matter where their team members are located, which can help to keep the business running efficiently and effectively.

In addition to that, with the price points that Atlantech Online offers with our Teams Calling service, it is a very competitive option to doing Direct Routing with Microsoft and it still delivers all the features found in our UCaaS platform. Many of these features aren't available when using Microsoft Direct Routing.

Microsoft Announces Improved Teams Performance

Microsoft has announced early in 2023 that new improvements are coming to Microsoft Teams. A new version of Microsoft Teams will come out soon and has been rebuilt from the ground up to significantly improve its system resource usage on PCs and laptops. In a recent Twitter thread, a former head of Microsoft Teams engineering stated that the improvements should mean Teams opens a lot faster or feels more responsive when you’re presenting in a meeting or responding to messages. The new Teams app should address many of the criticisms and complaints around Teams performance, particularly on older laptops.

Microsoft is currently planning to ship a preview of its new app to Teams users in the first half of 2023, which includes a toggle to switch back to the existing app if need be.
